Check out THIS flashback from 6 years ago!
There is a new movie out about the Apollo astronauts but we watched a documentary instead and it was actually pretty good. It was made by the guy who was Opie on the Andy Griffith Show. There are interviews with the astronauts who landed on the moon and one of them became a Christian. It is probably not good for little kids because a couple times there is rough language and some scary stuff but mainly it was exciting and I learned a lot. We bought the DVD on Amazon and watched it at our grandpa’s house. He remembers when it all happened and paused it a lot to tell us stories (Joel, 13).

A Gideon Exclusive!
My favorite part about astronomy is looking at the moon. We look at it in our telescope and it has lots of bumps. The moon goes around the earth and the earth goes around the sun and the sun goes around nothing I think. And people have gone around the moon and people have gone on the moon. But Andrew says they didn’t. Here is my sticker picture that I made about the moon and about the earth and about space shuttles and I don’t want to go on one (dictated to Mom by Gideon, 5).
There were 2 final contenders for our ‘H’ verse and I really couldn’t choose so this week we are doing both! Besides, next week is a review week so we’ll have plenty of extra time if we need it. So…
This weeks Memory Verses: H is for…
“He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows it’s time for setting.”
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.”
Hymn of the week: Great is Thy Faithfulness (Chisholm/Runyan)
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
As Thou has been Thou forever wilt be.
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
