The year we studied the land animals of the 6th day of creation I felt like I was living in a barn. Our five boys were 10, 9, 7, 5, and 1 years old. To help keep my perspective in the chaos I clung to verses like Proverbs 14:4 “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of an ox.” Whenever I felt myself wishing for a clean, quiet manger I was reminded that would mean an empty manger and a meager harvest. Praise God for full mangers and abundant life, even if they are loud and messy!
