On This Day in 1968…

…the crew of Apollo 8 sent back this Christmas Eve broadcast. Here are Bill Anders, Jim Lovell, and Frank Borman reading from Genesis 1.

With all of the technological advances since 1968, the science community, and our country at large, has only managed to get further and further from the truth.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory…and from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” John 1:1-18

The babe in the manger was no less than the Creator of it all.

  1. Merry Christmas family in Hawaii – – because we celebrate the same Savior we are closely knit together recognizing His sovereignty in ALL things – – soooo, over the ocean and the miles you are cherished in our hearts! Love and hugs – – Smilin’ for Him . . . physical hugs coming soon . . .

  2. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things were created through Him and for Him… He is before all things and in Him all things hold together… For in Him the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.” Col. 1:15-19

  3. I want to congradulate Titus on his Manta Ray dive! On our next visit to Kona he’ll have to guide me on a similar underwater excursion. That should make headlines: “nine year old escorts 81 year old kupuna kane on manta ray adventure!” I know you all are on a space trip now, but the waters off Kona offer more accessible thrills. Titus will enjoy this video:

    1. That video was shot with Kona Honu Divers which is owned by the parents of one of Tom’s students. That’s who Tom and Justin went out with on the boat. Ti didn’t even get the advantage of a boat. He swam all the way from shore to where the Manta’s were. At night! I would have been terrified but he wants to do it again. Thanks a lot, by the way, videos like that only fuel his desire πŸ™‚
