Memory Verse: Psalm 134
Reading #1: Genesis 14:17-24
Questions: What 2 important titles does Melchizedek possess? What 2 important titles do both Melchizedek and Abraham give to the Lord?
Questions: How does the truth of Psalm 121:2 add assurance to the promise of verse 8? Have you ever found yourself saying, “If it weren’t for the Lord…” like Psalm 124:1,2? What difference does it make that the helper you have actually made the heavens and the earth?
Reading #3: Psalm 146
Questions: What distinctions does the Psalmist make between powerful people in verses 3 and 4 and a powerful God in verses 5-10? How does the truth of verse 6 add assurance to the promises of verses 7-9?
Reading #4: Matthew 11:25-30
Questions: How does Jesus’ reference to the Father as the Lord of heaven and earth add authority to His statements about who He chooses to hide Himself from and who He chooses to reveal Himself to? How does the fact that Jesus has been given all things by the Father bring added assurance and comfort to verses 28-30?
Psalms and Hymns
Psalm 121A “The Lord thee keeps; the Lord thy shade on thy right hand doth stay; The moon by night thee shall not smite, nor yet the sun by day.”
Psalm 124 “Our lonely help is in Jehovah’s name, Who made the earth and all the heavenly frame.”
This caused me to read more about Robert Jastrow.
