G is for…

This week’s memory verse: G is for…
“Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice! The heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge!” Psalm 50;5,6

Hymn of the Week: How Great Thou Art (Boberg/Hine)
(We are also learning this one in Hawaiian)

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power through out the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

E mele au I ka Ho’ola e,
He nani no, He nani no!
E mele au I ka Ho’ola e,
He nani no, He nani no.

Since this is such a popular hymn, I thought it might be fun to give folks an opportunity to listen and sing along. Not bEing very computer savvy, the only way I know how to do that is through YouTube. So I enlisted the help of my boys and we previewed about a dozen renditions before they voted to add this one to our page. While many others had far more sophisticated (and I think beautiful) musical renderings the boys didn’t like the accompanying images because they included things like “babies” or “girls with flowers”. The following video was approved because all the pictures were from space…or maybe they’re just little country-music fans at heart…Alan Jackson…Really guys???

  1. This is so amazing. I could see the different types and originality of each galaxy and their unique colors. It’s overwhelming to think that God alone created this magnificent scenery. This is a minimum of God’s greatness and his power. I can’t even comprehend the knowledge of God.

    1. Katrina, you are so right that we have hardly scratched the surface of what God has done and can do. The Bible says that no one has seen or heard or can even comprehend the things He has in store for us.
